Life's taken some interesting turns the last year or so.  Nothing I'm going to blabber on about here because I don't make the mistake of thinking my personal dramas are interesting to the rest of the world.

Not least of the troubles was my computer starting to go weird unexpectedly in June. Despite various repair attempts, she's now been sent off to be dismantled by a pro.  I've lost all mail from June until a couple of days ago but everything else seems to be safe data-wise so now I just have to wait and see what it'll cost to repair.

One day I will welcome her back with banners and tickertape, and we'll skip happily across the airwaves together.

In the meantime, the frustration of being unable to access practically anything at work and nothing at home has ground me down and I scraped together enough money to buy a laptop to tide me over.

Sadly, it is a Vista laptop and no amount of "gentle" persuasion seems to want to change it into an XP laptop which is a bummer as I have a spare licence.

Still, it's something, and now I can get back to doing things other than playing on my DS and cleaning the damn house.

On other technology notes, I now have an iPod, a DS Lite and a new mobile. The world is ending.

Tell me of your adventures for the past year.

I have a sudden burning desire to track down people from my past.

I should try to get over it probably. I expect that they won't live up to expectations.

Paul Gilliland, Michael "Spike" Parker, Ian Bisby, Swarnjit Singh, Lesa Delaney, Neil St John Baxter, Alan Churchward, Zoe Davies ... I'm looking for you all!
